Job Description

Allora Hospitality is looking for a Financial Controller and Chief Accountant to manage the budgeting, reporting, and financial accounting for its primary operations and child companies, The Fare Porter and Valente’s Cucina.  This individual will be solely responsible for all bookkeeping and tax reporting, as well as payroll management and reconciliations.  This individual will need to have a strong background in accounting, financial planning, and vendor management.  Additional responsibilities may include completion of grant and loan application and should have strong interpersonal skills to participate and present on financials to potential investors.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Create and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and budget plans
    • Build data-driven decision-making models to ensure optimal use of financial insights
    • Drive operational efficiencies via financial reporting and historic data
    • Provide executive summaries on financial performance on a regular basis
  • Accounts Payable and Vendor Manager
    • Negotiate and maintain pricing, discounting, and payment terms for vendor relationships
    • Identify opportunities to reduce supplier cost, including review and audit of existing vendors
    • Validate applicable credits and pricing are applied prior to approving bills for disbursement
    • Manage payment terms to ensure optimal cash flow management
  • Treasury Management
    • Create and maintain cash flow planning, ensuring cash receipts are deposited promptly, while payables are paid timely and optimizing cash management
    • Negotiate or replace banking relationships to ensure reduction in bank fees and expenses
    • Look for opportunities to optimize return on standing cash
    • Manage loan payments and reduce loan interest expense to optimal levels
  • Tax and Payroll Accounting
    • Manage and submit payroll expenses, including managing withholding payments and impact on cash flow
    • File all appropriate tax returns promptly and identify opportunities to optimize tax liability
    • Ensure item management is appropriate and validate tax calculations on purchase and sale
  • Accountant and Controller
    • Complete account and banking reconciliations on monthly basis, identifying and reporting discrepancies
    • Complete monthly Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, and Income Statements
    • Prepare financial and executive boards presentations for investors and staff meetings
    • Optimize partnership agreements and manage equity disbursements
